Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students enter our mobile classroom daily asking for a bottle of water if they don’t have one.

I’d love to be able to offer my students a water bottle refilling station or a reusable cup they can drink out of while they’re in class!

There are scholars in my class that I talk with who struggle with throwing their garbage in the trash and recycling empty bottles. I aim to use the books about nature and animals to support my endeavors as I teach students importance of treating our environment well and being in love with nature.

The books that I am requesting will teach my students to appreciate the environment's beauty and its importance in their lives. It is my hope that they develop a connection to the natural world that stays with them throughout their lives while being concern about the human impact. Lastly, my students will learn to value the resources that the environment provide and to take responsibility for preserving them.
