Students on our campus see the value of hard work and respect. They arrive ready to work in the morning and leave excited for tomorrow. We do our best to foster a positive and caring environment and reward each student's individual success.
As a result, our kids want more than just to pass; they want to learn.
They are determined to succeed and use the information they are given. They want to be better. Many of our students come from low-income households, and our school is located in the heart of a low-income area of our city.
We are a K-12 public charter school led by an enthusiastic team of administrators and caring teachers who are motivated each day by these kids. Our school opened its doors the week of 9/11. We are based on "empowering future leaders for success" and our community takes it to heart. Our school is a place like no other in the world of education.
My Project
Board games are an incredible way to pass the time, bond with peers, and relax. They are also great ways to refine math skills, learn to manage resources, learn about the environment, and improve as an individual. The games included in this project focus on resource management and show students how to manage them in a fun way.
The games included focus on resources and the environment.
Students will be able to play games cooperatively, such as Power Grid, Catan, and Terraforming Mars where being aware of the games environmental resources make a difference in success and failure. Will they succeed? It depends on how environmentally aware they can be in the game!
