"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks" John Muir once said. I want to give my students the opportunity to learn more about nature by planting, growing and maintaining their own outside, classroom garden. This hands on experience will enable them to learn about gardening.
My students are third graders who live in Southern California.
They are pleasers who are very helpful and friendly. They recycle, bring in box tops, clean their school, and like to protect their environment. They also like learning new things. My students will fully enjoy learning more about growing plants.
These materials will enable my third graders to plant, harvest and learn more about horticulture. They will be able to witness this experience outside our classroom in a planter. They will be excited about science and nature with these tools, and hands-on activities.
I am a kinesthetic learner.
I also have a lot of kinesthetic learners in my classroom. My students learn more with manipulatives. With these materials, my students will have the best experience ever. I hope that with my teaching skills, I can get them more excited about science.
