My students need a set of animal three part cards for continents, set of companion guides for continents, complete set of biome readers for continents, reader box, cabinet, storage, and Language Works.
Throughout a typical day in our public Montessori classroom of students aged 6-9, our students are able to choose work within frameworks set forth for them. Often times the students are drawn to the Montessori specific cultural (social studies) and cosmic (science) materials.
These students come from varied backgrounds culturally, racially, and socio-economically, but they are all a curious bunch and all share an equal love for discovery--especially when related to science and cultures.
Via Montessori, our students are free to further explore past the state mandated standards and truly become world citizens, so shall they choose.
My Project
I envision our students working with the set of animal three part cards for continents, set of companion guides for continents, complete set of biome readers for continents, reader box, cabinet, storage, Language Works, and other science and language materials that lend themselves to environmental science through biome research of the continents, fervently. The purpose of these materials is to spark interest to further research through hands on learning and inspire a love of our environment and therefore creating sentient beings that are better able to problem solve for the future of our world's community.
The materials from this project will reach about 50 students next school year, and about 50 students every following year for years to come.
These materials have the capacity to open the mindset of these students into the realization that we are one world and environmental issues cross all political boundaries.
