This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school has recently been blessed with the most beautiful outdoor garden space! Students in all subject areas are able to use this space to learn about how they can grow their own food and what they can do with the crops we are growing. It is an amazing space with raised beds and irrigation. However we need the tools to make our garden bloom.
We have the space now we need the tools!
Gardening is more than just seed or plants with dirt and water. Maintenance and upkeep on the garden is also a necessity. Our garden space is amazing but we need the tools and supplies to keep it up. Potting benches to start seeds and garden had tools to help plant and weed the area is a must. We also want to keep the environment in mind. Outdoor composting is essential to eliminating food waste and will allow student to learn about nutrient recycling.
