My students' excitement and enthusiasm to learn inspires me to think of new ways to spark their interest and curiosity. My goal is to fill every student's day with meaningful and challenging learning opportunities.
My students are enthusiastic learners who come to school full of energy and ready to learn every day.
Their learning styles and needs are as diverse as their backgrounds.
Our small school of 340 students does not qualify for Title 1 services so funding for special projects is limited. We pride ourselves on helping all students strive for academic success and helping them thrive through engaging learning activities.
My Project
Innovative students think out of the box and try new ideas to solve a problem. Throughout the year, my students are challenged to show their engineering skills such as creating arcade games or Rube Goldberg machines out of recycled materials. Every student's life experience varies, but I would like them all to develop the critical thinking skills to solve problems creatively and to persevere through engineering challenges.
The Gears, Keva Planks and Simple Machine Sets will give my students hands-on experience to ensure their success.
Students will be able to practice building simple machines and other structures, using the requested materials in school, so they can build their understanding of how things work. This especially helps level the playing field for students with little experience with building things. Then when students are building their own projects at home, they all have prior knowledge to work from. Working with the simple machine sets and gear kits will give them success to build on and confidence to try new things. I love when students are inspired and innovative!
