My Students
I teach 5th and 6th Grade Social Studies and Reading Enrichment. The students I have in Reading Enrichment are students who have tested in Reading as on or above grade level.
For 45 minutes per day, I engage in Interactive Read-Aloud with the students.
We read books that have movies, and the students then compare the book to the movie.
The students work hard in class, so while I am educating them about literature, it is nice for them to enjoy it.
My Project
During Enrichment, I make it my goal for students to be intrigued by reading. Many times, they are reading literature that does not interest them.
Percy Jackson is a current book, which students want to read, watch the movie, and compare.
Enrichment class is truly a time for students to interact with the reading, answer discussion questions, work in groups, and formulate ideas.
With the purchase of these books, students will be able to follow along to the reading, find textual evidence to answer text-based questions, and effectively create a vivid story map of the ongoing plot in their minds.
