My students need a water table and mail carrier costumes.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Carle's classroom raised $259
This project is fully funded
My Students
Our classroom is based on the balanced literacy or workshop model. This means that a good portion of the students' day is spent independently completing tasks within groups or pairs while I conduct small group learning opportunities based specifically on each student's educational needs.
My 2015/2016 1st grade class will consist of thirty active students with big hearts and exceptionally inquisitive minds.
They LOVE to work hard, ask questions, and create which is why these materials are so important to enriching their classroom experiences.
My Project
These materials will act as enrichment aids for activities that we already do in the 1st grade. For instance, the water table will allow the students to properly (and independently!) conduct flotation experiments with a STEM flotation kit that we have but have not been able to properly use. Secondly, the mail carrier costumes will bring our "Friendly Letter Fridays" (in which student write, address, and deliver letters to students and faculty within the building) to life!
The water table will be one of the most exciting additions to our room.
While we have a STEM flotation experimentation kit, we have been getting by using large bowls (if they happen to work) that I feel I have to monitor closely. Having the water table in the room will mean the students can independently conduct the experiments on their own during workshop. Also, the mail carrier costumes will add a little magic to the experience of delivering our mail throughout the school.
