Help me give my students a filing cabinet and supplies to organize all our Cherokee language materials.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. L.'s classroom raised $523

My Students
My students are part of the Cherokee Culture and Language teams.
My students are from a very high poverty area made up of mostly Native American students.
Over 90% of our students qualify for the free lunch program.
Our students are losing their culture. My students come from different tribes but all have one common goal, to learn about their culture. We intend to do this through researching our history, learning our language and learning songs in our languages. We hope to gain more knowledge of our culture through our class.
My Project
The materials we have requested are going to be used to organize our Cherokee classroom. The filing cabinet and folders will be used to store our written materials and songs.
The pencil boxes will be used to store their beading supplies while making culturally relevant craft projects.
The cricut mat will allow us to make larger images in the Cherokee language that we use to label objects in our classroom and around the school.
The bins will be used to store our puppets. Our students put on puppet shows for the Early Childhood students using the myths and legends of our Cherokee history.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
