My Project
I am a special education math teacher and my students range from 7th-8th grade and have a wide range of abilities. Many times my students want to participate or write on the board but are not able to, or get anxious standing in front of their classmates. With math, providing examples and modeling are key components of a successful lesson. Sometimes it is challenging to ensure all students are working and focused when I need to remain up front by the board and cannot walk around while teaching.
The use of an iPad to connect to the Promethean Board in the front of the room will allow me to facilitate notes while walking around and assisting or redirecting students.
Being able to connect an iPad to my board and walk around while going over notes and writing the notes will allow me to redirect my students to stay on task, but also will provide a distraction free way to do notes. My students will also be able to clearly see the board without the need to look around me as I write on the board. Overall, this will improve the way notes are taken in my classroom, as well as improve the way showing examples and modeling are done in the room. My students will also be able to all participate in the lesson and show their work right from their desk with the ability to hand the iPad to students so they can work a problem out without the need to stand in front of the class.
