My Project

The Native American books I’m requesting will provide my 3rd grade students with authentic, diverse perspectives that are often underrepresented in traditional curricula. These books will help students understand and appreciate the rich cultures, histories, and traditions of Native American communities. By incorporating these resources into our classroom, we can foster a more inclusive learning environment that promotes empathy, cultural awareness, and critical thinking.

My primary goal is to expand my students' understanding of Native American cultures through engaging, age-appropriate literature.

I aim to encourage respect for diversity and promote a more comprehensive view of American history. Additionally, I hope to inspire a love for reading by providing books that resonate with the students' interests and experiences. Ultimately, this project seeks to build a more inclusive and culturally rich educational experience for my class.

My students are incredibly curious, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about exploring new ideas. They come from diverse backgrounds and have a strong desire to understand different cultures and perspectives. Their openness and willingness to engage with new material make them particularly receptive to the stories and lessons found in Native American literature. This project will help them connect with the content in meaningful ways, supporting their growth as compassionate and informed individuals.
