Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school has 750 students from very diverse backgrounds. The majority of our students are first or second generation and they bring their cultures, languages, and traditions to our school community.
A counseling library that is more reflective of our school's community and has activities to build social-emotional capacity for students has the potential to bring great positive change to our students.
I have been able to provide books to many students to improve their reading in their primary language, or which have themes that are reflective in our students' lives, but more books are needed!
