My Students
Welcome to my 5th grade classroom! I have the opportunity to teach and impact 90+ students each day in the area of math. My students are amazing! They are smart, creative and eager to learn! My students come from many diverse backgrounds and each have their own learning styles.
My goal is to create a fun, engaging math environment that is conducive for all students to learn and be successful.
I would love to give students multiple manipulatives, games and project based learning opportunities each day during our math instruction time.

I want to empower my students with enriching math opportunities!
These materials will be available to use by all students in my classroom. The math enrichment tubs will allow students to be immersed in activities that provide 21st century problem-solving skills that are engaging and enriching to each learner in my class.
Currently, I teach math to 18 fifth graders. However, next year I anticipate having three math classes and almost 90 students who will benefit from these math enrichment tubs.
What makes these enrichment tubs truly unique is the fact that these bins are an opportunity to give students a voice and allow them to engage in meaningful math activities at their instructional level.
In my classroom, students are given a "Math Menu" with required items that they "have to" do and then "may do" when the "have to" activities are complete. Some of the manipulatives such as fraction strips, decimal and place value dice will provide visual support for learners during their "have to" activities. My bigger need for my math classroom are opportunities for students to use problem-solving, hands-on, cooperative resources to support all learners. I believe the math enrichment tubs with ThinkFun and dice games/activities, Stem projects, Rubik's cubes and project based learning activities will give all my students fun, exciting resources they "may do" and enjoy during the learning process!
