Gone were the stiff rows of desks that often limited interaction and movement. In their place, students suddenly had options—soft seating, stools, wobble chairs, and small group tables—that gave them the freedom to choose how and where they learn best. The excitement on their faces the first morning we introduced the new seating was unforgettable. Several students walked in, stopped, and just stared in surprise before breaking into wide grins. One student exclaimed, \"This looks like a college classroom!\" while another said, \"I can't wait to sit here and do math today!\" That moment alone was worth every bit of the effort to secure the grant.\r\nThe response from students has been overwhelmingly positive. Students who often felt restless in traditional desks have commented that they can concentrate better in a chair that allows a little movement, like a wobble stool. Others who sometimes felt anxious in rows have found comfort in being able to choose a quieter spot. The variety of seating has helped students recognize how they personally learn best, giving them confidence and independence in their studies.\r\nNone of this would have been possible without the generous support of our donors. Your contribution has done far more than purchase chairs and tables—it has created a welcoming, student-centered space where learning feels alive, collaborative, and engaging. The difference in student enthusiasm, participation, and confidence has been remarkable, and it will continue to ripple forward as these students carry their renewed energy for learning into future grades.\r\nThank you so much for your generosity and for believing in the potential of our students. Your investment has transformed our classroom and is making a lasting difference every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1755737007709,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-counts-boosting-math-learning-w/9299595/","projectTitle":"Comfort Counts: Boosting Math Learning with Flexible Seating Solutions","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Condray","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp682341_orig.jpg?crop=1317,1317,x262,y53&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565493516190","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/putawaytextbooklearning"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54966","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":454,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":74,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"22.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":87.9,"schoolId":54966,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Challenger Intermediate School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Challenger Intermediate School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/goddard-unified-school-district-265/challenger-intermediate-school/54966"}
