Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am teaching technology! I am teaching classes from PK-5th. While I'm teaching an array of grades, most of the classes are from PK-5th Grade. The majority of the students in the school are Hispanic/Latino and many of them speak in Spanish when they are at home.

This year majority of our students are joining classes remotely from their houses to stay safe through this epidemic we are in.

With economic disadvantages, all students are receiving both breakfast and lunch in school.

My Project

This project is asking for 3 LED Light up seats that will bring some excitement back into our classroom! With all the stress we have been under the past year, I wanted to create an environment that would be exciting for students to walk into each day.

These LED seats will offer a change in scenery and students will be able to learn in their areas of separation while on a seat that will certainly make them smile.

Students will earn (buy) a chance to use these light up seats for the day with the "money" points they earn when making positive choices. Reinforcing positive choices with incentives will support my little learners in developing long lasting healthy attitudes and relationships.

Additionally I am asking for a white noise machine since we are keeping our windows open to have proper air-flow.

While the windows are being kept open to keep us safe, students are having a difficult time in maintaining their concentration due to the outdoor noises.

Creating a learning environment that is exciting to be a part of along with the limited distractions will support all learners. Promoting learning in a fun way will reduce the anxieties some of these learners may be walking into the building with and will for several hours give them peace of mind and smiles throughout the day!
