My Project
As a middle school ELA teacher, I have my students doing a lot of reading. It can be challenging sometimes to get some students to not only participate in reading, but to enjoy it while they do. To help with this, I love to change the environment for my students at times, and I will take them outside for independent reading on a beautiful day. The students love this so much, and they are usually very into their reading when I give them this opportunity. I've been wanting to create a more comfortable arrangement for them instead of sitting on concrete or grass, and these floor seats would be easy for my students to each carry one and sit on outside for reading. I would love to give my students the ability to be more comfortable during these lessons, allowing them to enjoy the outside reading even more.
Having students enjoy reading opportunities allows for them to fall in love with reading again, which helps them to get more out of the lessons applied to the reading.
