Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are ENL learners. Learning in English is very challenging especially since many of their parents don't speak English to assist at home. They come from homes that lack educational tools. It is crucial that they get the maximum education they can at school. Our school is a Title I school which is in need of many tools to engage students. Engaging students is beneficial for academic growth. DonorsChoose.org has made many improvements in the classroom for students like mine.
My Project
My students have been complaining about reading on the floor. They are seeking some comfort during reading and these seats will be a start for them.
I know this will be a great incentive for students to read and build their stamina.
With these seats students will be able to find the comfort they need to really dive into a book and read for enjoyment.
Instead of focusing on how uncomfortable they are, they will be able to focus on their book and building their comprehension. Reading creates a creative mind and takes you to new places. Help us get there! Thank you!
