This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students often benefit from hands-on, multi-sensory learning experiences. The requested materials will support development in the following key areas:

• Baby Farm Animal Toys: These toys can be used in a variety of ways to promote language development, social-emotional skills, and cognitive growth.

For example, students can learn animal names, sounds, and characteristics, and engage in imaginative play scenarios that foster social interaction and emotional expression. These toys can also be incorporated into activities that target fine motor skills, such as picking up and manipulating the small figures.

Velcro Dots: Velcro dots are an incredibly versatile tool for creating interactive learning materials. They can be used to:

o Create adapted books: Students can match pictures, words, or objects, promoting literacy and language skills.

o Develop matching games: Students can match colors, shapes, or numbers, enhancing cognitive and problem-solving skills.

o Facilitate task completion: Visual schedules with Velcro attachments can help students understand routines and expectations, promoting independence and reducing anxiety.

• Transportation Vehicles: Toys like cars, trucks, and buses can be used to support a variety of learning goals. They can be incorporated into activities that:

o Develop vocabulary: Students can learn the names of different vehicles, their parts, and related concepts (e.g., "fast," "slow," "stop," "go").

o Promote social interaction: Students can engage in cooperative play scenarios, such as building roads, transporting passengers, and creating stories. Enhance fine motor skills: Manipulating the vehicles requires hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Laminating Machine: A laminating machine is essential for creating durable, reusable learning materials. Many of the materials described above, such as adapted books, matching games, and visual supports, will be used repeatedly by students with disabilities.
