Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Five years ago my colleague, Mr. Stout, started the school E-Sports team. He had fundraised and gotten enough donations from parents and the community to make the E-Sports team free to join. Fast forward four years and I join the E-Sports team as an assistant coach and will be taking over E-Sports in place of Mr.Stout who will still be an active partner in this organization.

This organization is an amazing opportunity for students who do not know gaming and want to learn.

We have several titles for the kids to learn and enjoy including Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Rocket League, Call of Duty, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, and Fortnite. The monitors that Mr. Stout started off with are still the ones we have today, and some of them are beginning to fade and die on us so we are using some loaners from our IT department. Getting newer monitors will allow us to get some much needed upgrades for the kids. Eventually, I would like to have the whole room equipped with fairly updated monitors and PCs.
