This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are explorers. They want answers to questions and demand new ideas. Hence they are curiously exploring and researching from known to unknown phenomena. This is typical of scientists. I want to get my student ready for higher challenges in science.

My students are 8 grade English learners and resource students.

They came from different parts of the world with different cultures, atitude and values towards education and learning. Most of them are from low income families. My school is a title 1 school and most of our students are on free breakfast and reduced lunch.

My Project

These materials will enable my students to access information in science, online lessons, web quest, online demonstrations, journals and articles. Thus they can research and present their projects through power point, prezi, and podcast. These materials will make reading and writing easier in view of the challenges presented by the new common core standards and the new generation science standards. This will make learning fun. My students will be inspired, motivated and fully engaged in audio visual learning. This will put my students on the same level with most of the students who learning with technology instead of the old traditional method of learning with textbook, chalkboard and whiteboard.

These materials will give my students access to a wide variety of learning experiences and their interest and understanding of science will be enhanced.

Our school is faced with hard economic challenges that replacing batteries in our very old laptops lying dead in our computer carts is a big problem and difficult. This project is funded, will help to develop and improve my students creative nature, as well as achieve their full potential in science.
