Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school, located in the South Bronx serves as a hub of creativity and expression for our students, who are deeply passionate about performing arts despite the challenges they face. Our auditorium has faced its share of hardships over the years. A decade ago, during a much-needed renovation, we installed a soundboard to elevate the quality of our performances. However, the board ceased to function about six or seven years ago, leaving our stage performances devoid of the professional touch they deserve.
Recently, our efforts to revitalize our school's cultural life were dealt a heavy blow when the replacement soundboard was stolen.
This loss is especially disheartening as we are preparing for our annual talent show, a cherished event that allows our students to showcase their talents, culture, and creativity to the community.
To make sure that our talent show and other performances continue to thrive, we would like to acquire a Mackie ProFXv3 Series, 16-Channel Professional Effects Mixer with USB, Onyx Mic Preamps, and GigFX effects engine - Unpowered (ProFX16v3). This soundboard is not just a piece of equipment; it is an opportunity for our students to experience the professionalism and excellence they deserve. We also have a professional camera that is in need of extra batteries. The camera will help us capture our students' performances.
