My Students represent our community and our future! Through this collective array of scholars, building their skills to be successful through academics gives me a sense of securing not only their future but our future as well!!
It is extremely important to provide my community of scholars text, The Hate U Give, that support them in this classroom community we house in my school building!!
Therefore, keeping in mind student achievement, text that mirror our kids gives them the opportunity to connect to text and master the concepts of that lesson through the lens of literature.
