My students need more flexible seating options like flex-space floor seats and yoga balls to enhance the flexible seating options in our classroom as well as book bins to keep their materials organized.
The public school classroom is one of the most diverse spaces in our increasingly diverse world. Not only are our students diverse in background, they are incredibly diverse learners too! I see this multitude of diversity as an asset, and in our classroom community we encourage our students to embrace each other so that they might strive together to build each other up to become encouraging forces of progress in our world!
My students love working with each other and engaging in problem solving tasks, as well as being actively engaged in their education through hands-on learning.
For the past two years my students have thrived using flexible seating in our classroom. Flexible seating and the exciting variety of choices it brings to the learning environment meets the needs of diverse learners within my classroom. Whether a student needs to wiggle a little on a yoga ball or a wobble stool, or sit on the floor using a floor cushion, flexible seating allows them to work in a place where they do their best learning.
Using flexible seating in our classroom increases student engagement which leads to higher levels of achievement and greater understanding of the content.
Providing students with yoga balls and flex-space floor seats will allow them to choose a spot where they are able to work best in our classroom and will place them on the path to academic success!
