This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 6th through 8th grade students that are enrolled in my mathematics classes. My school site is situated in an urban community. My students' math skills range in varying levels of mathematical concept development and skill level. My students also range in English language skills from English being their first language to students who are learning the language. The students I service are from low to mid-socioeconomic homes. They are eager learners who strive to do their best!

My Project

My students have been working on their financial literacy concepts and skills. They have learned the difference between needs and wants, saving money, and how credit works. The next step in their financial literacy journey is to work in a group to create a business. They will develop a business plan, create ads, and present their businesses to the class. I'd like to support their conceptual learning of financial literacy by offering them digital activities that they can do to support learning in class and at home. By receiving a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I can purchase digital activities that are interactive and fun, all while enhancing their financial literacy skills.
