This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Mental health issues among students are on the rise, often affecting their ability to focus and engage in learning. Creating a classroom environment that prioritizes mental well-being can help alleviate anxiety and foster a sense of community.
Headphones are needed to facilitate focused, independent work, enabling students to engage in calming audio or guided meditations, reducing anxiety, and improving concentration.
Whiteboards: Allow for interactive, visual learning opportunities where students can express thoughts and ideas freely, promoting creativity and emotional expression.
The markers support the use of whiteboards for brainstorming sessions, collaborative projects, and mental health check-ins, allowing for quick adjustments and a dynamic learning experience.
The headphone use will Introduce a "calm corner" where students can use headphones for mindfulness activities during breaks or designated quiet times.
Whiteboard Activities: Conduct regular sessions where students can anonymously share their feelings or thoughts on the board, fostering open dialogue about mental health.
Community Building: Use whiteboards for group activities that encourage teamwork and empathy, reinforcing a supportive classroom culture.

By integrating these tools, we aim to enhance students' mental health awareness, improve their emotional regulation, and create a more engaging learning environment. This project will not only support individual well-being but also strengthen the overall classroom community.
