it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Board games provide a valuable outlet for stress relief and relaxation. In a classroom setting, where academic pressures and social dynamics can be overwhelming, board games create a safe and enjoyable space for students to unwind. Engaging in play helps to reduce anxiety and fosters a positive emotional climate. Through structured play, students can momentarily escape the pressures of their daily routines, contributing to improved overall mental well-being.
Playing board games requires and enhances essential social skills, such as teamwork, communication, and empathy.
Games often involve collaborative efforts, where students must work together towards a common goal. This collaborative environment encourages positive interactions and helps build strong relationships among peers. As students navigate the rules and dynamics of the games, they practice critical social skills, including patience, turn-taking, and problem-solving.
The board games we are requesting—"Werewolf," "Debateable," "Sussed," "Word Teasers," and "Reverse Charades"—are selected to address various aspects of student learning and personal development. These games encourage students to engage in critical thinking, persuasive communication as well as helps students manage emotions like suspicion and excitement in a fun, controlled environment, promoting emotional resilience and self-regulation.
Our student population includes learners from various backgrounds such as those that come from lower social economical status, those with IEPs and those receiving ELL services. By incorporating these board games, we aim to create an enriching educational experience that supports their unique strengths and challenges. Your support will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and dynamic learning environment for all students.
