My Project
Struggling readers face significant challenges in engaging with and comprehending text. Traditional black-and-white printed materials can be monotonous and fail to capture the attention of students who need additional support. Research indicates that the use of color in educational materials can significantly enhance comprehension, retention, and motivation, especially among students with reading difficulties. To address this need, we propose the acquisition of a high-quality color printer for our classroom. This tool will allow us to produce visually engaging materials that can transform the learning experience for our struggling readers.

Research shows that color can help differentiate key concepts and ideas, making it easier for students to follow along and understand the material. Color-enhanced materials can also increase retention. Students are more likely to remember information presented in color, as it creates a stronger visual impact. Finally, color-enhanced materials can boost motivation. Visually appealing materials are more likely to capture students’ interest and encourage them to participate in reading activities.
Investing in a color printer for our classroom is not just a technological upgrade; it is a strategic move to address the specific needs of our struggling readers. By making reading materials more engaging, accessible, and effective, we can help these students overcome their challenges and achieve academic success.
