In our 6th-grade classroom, I strive to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student has the tools they need to succeed. Among my students, several have special needs that require additional support to develop their literacy skills. These students benefit greatly from technology that provides individualized instruction, interactive learning opportunities, and accessible reading materials.
I am seeking funding for two iPads to support my students with special needs as they work on developing their literacy skills.
These iPads will provide access to research-based apps and assistive technology tools that make reading and writing more accessible, such as:
Text-to-speech apps that help struggling readers decode words and comprehend text.
Speech-to-text tools that empower students with writing challenges to express their thoughts.
Interactive literacy apps that make reading fun, engaging, and accessible for all learning styles.
Digital libraries that offer diverse, leveled texts for students to explore at their own pace.
By integrating iPads into our literacy instruction, my students will receive personalized support that meets their unique learning needs, boosts their confidence, and fosters a love of reading.
