This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My amazing students are energetic and enthusiastic learners. They have a thirst for knowledge, which keeps me motivated everyday. My students attend an inner-city school with a high poverty rate. They continue to attend class on time and stay motivated to learn.
My Project
An iPad will help me create an inclusive learning environment during distance learning as well as when we do eventually return to the classroom. Since I teach ELL students, I need to differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of all my students. An iPad will allow me to make lessons more engaging by making it interactive. I’ll be able to use an Apple Pencil and mark up PDFs or photos during math and language arts to help my visual learners. I would also be able to sketch and annotate while I am providing direct instructions.
An iPad will allow me to create an equitable learning environment by making the content accessible to all my students.
An iPad is very versatile and can provide different ways for the academic content to reach the students. I would be able to utilize apps like Equity Map that helps track on student engagement as well as tracking whether I am providing opportunities for them to share. An iPad will allow me to be creative in ways that a laptop cannot.
