My students are truly an inspiration for me to continue teaching. They come in each day no matter what happened at home the night before or during the morning ready to learn. Each student brings new experiences to the classroom. My group of students has mixed interests, abilities, and goals. My students are active and inquisitive young scientists who love to learn. Remember how exciting it felt to participate in hands-on science activities in the classroom as a child? My students bubble over with excitement and anticipation for these experiences.
My students consist of 45 amazing fourth graders.
We are part of a very large and still growing elementary campus. Many of my students are new to the community. Some of my students are more fluent in English, while others are just beginning to get the basics of speaking English. The best part of it all is that they are in my class and we will learn together.
The materials in this project will allow my students the opportunity to explore with hands-on activities. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. My students enjoy learning by playing games. This helps to build their skills by working problems out with a partner. They also enjoy everything science. The visuals of the life cycles will give them a clear picture of what to expect during these units. The microscope slides will allow the students the opportunity to see specimens up close and safely.
