My Project
Due to a Science teacher shortage , Person County, NC has hired virtual teachers for unfilled positions. My students are in a classroom with a teaching coach and I teach them via Google Meets from over 6 hours away.
Our biggest challenge has been hearing the students when they ask questions and being able to see my students.
We currently have to use the mic on the Chromebook and it is inadequate for the large classroom. If students have a question, they have to walk up to the computer or type the question in the chat. By having the Meeting Owl and mic in the classroom, it will greatly increase the interaction the teacher can have with the students. I currently teach 3 classes of Science (Biology, Physical Science, and Earth/Environmental ) and 11th grade Act Prep which consists of between 100 and 120 students. I want my students to have the best experience possible with a virtual teacher and having the Meeting Owl will help me teach my students more effectively.
