Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an educator dedicated to supporting Multilingual Language Learners (MLs) or more commonly known as English as a Second Language (ESL) students, I am seeking your support in providing a crucial tool for their academic success: high-quality headphones with built-in microphones. These headphones will be used primarily during language proficiency assessments, as well as during speaking and listening practice.
Many of our MLs face challenges in testing environments due to poor audio quality and limited access to effective speaking tools.
Having access to headphones with microphones will help them engage more effectively in assessments that require them to speak clearly and be heard accurately, whether they are responding to prompts, completing listening comprehension tasks, or practicing pronunciation.
By funding this project, you will be providing a set of headphones with microphones that would be shared among all of the ESL students in our school. These tools will support not only the assessment process but also language practice, helping our ML students feel confident and prepared as they continue to learn and grow.
