Help me give my students a Kitchen Play Set that can be used for imaginative play, sorting, and making patterns, vehicles for our city road rug, snacks for hungry tummies, and storage bins for organizing. Thanks so much!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a class of four and five-year-old students at a Title I school, who are energetic and loving. Our classroom has a new play kitchen with an old set of dishes with missing pieces. A new dish set would make playtime more fun and allow students to sort by color, size, and function. Additionally, students can learn about using environmentally friendly practices at home. We have a new rug that looks like city roads, but no vehicles to drive on it. It has places in communities and community helpers that students can use to enhance our unit about the community where we live. We need storage for our manipulatives and the rainbow colors help with learning and organization. It's difficult for little ones to focus when hungry, so snacks are always a welcome treat.
