Enhance Learning with the Use of a Projector

My Students

Research shows that people remember 20% of what they hear, 30% of what they see, and 50% of what they hear AND see. With the use of a projector in my classroom, my students will be able to see and listen to topics from a wider and deeper angle.

We are a community of fourth graders within the School District of Philadelphia, who are very eager to learn.

Our classroom consists of 30 students, a few of which receive special education services as well as students who are struggling English-speaking learners.

My Project

A projector will allow me the opportunity to project visual aids to help enhance learning. These visuals will allow students to connect with the lessons and help with the inclusion process and those with language barriers. No two learners are alike. This added use of technology will be an effective tool in reaching the diverse learners in my class. It will serve as an interactive and motivational tool of learning that will allow my students to become more engaged in their learning process. Instruction will come alive by making abstract concepts more concrete. Visual aids will bring the outside world into the classroom, and therefore allow students to make more of a connection with the content being presented to them. It will also provide interest and motivate students while increasing retention of information and learning. A projector in my classroom will create an added opportunity for success for all my students.

With access to a projector, I will be able to use my laptop more effectively during instruction.

I will be able to present visuals and demonstrate concepts far more easily than just explaining or writing on a chalkboard. With this added learning tool, my students will be more likely to stay engaged, on task, and reduce behavioral problems in the classroom.
