Enhance 1st Grade

My Students

My students come to school every day with the desire to learn and be loved. They want to learn new things and explore the world around them. I always try to make their day one that is full of fun and hands-on engaging activities to enhance their learning and development. Each child learns differently and it is my job to help those learners any way I can. I do everything I can to help my students be the best they can be!

Our school building is under construction and won't be ready for another year.

Currently, we are housed in a nearby middle school. The students and staff make do with what we have and we never lose our positive vibes. Everywhere you look, you see a smiling face at our school. Despite the "borrowed" building, the students and staff have made it home.

My Project

My students get so distracted by our loud shared space that it is hard for them to concentrate. This really affects my students with special needs. These children need noise cancelling headphones to help them concentrate and block out the unwanted noise.

We share space and it is very difficult to hear my class speak.

We need a portable microphone for the children to be able to hear one another. It is hard to pay attention when you cannot hear due to noise pollution. Having 2 classrooms in the same space with a very loud fan above us- we have to be right next to one another to have discussions. This is very difficult.

For wanted noise, my students need a drum and egg shakers to help cheer their classmates on when answering questions. I saw students at another school use a drum for "drum roll" and the effect it had on the environment was amazing. The class praised one another, cheered each other on- something I want my class to do!

Please help me get a few enhancements to make a better learning environment for my class.
