My students need 5 sets of alphabet stamps and stamp pads for one of our Daily 5 centers. They also need some games and buzzers that will allow them to practice their sight words and to build words.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Learning two languages is a big task! So I have to take advantage of my kids sponge-like minds in second grade in order for them to acquire English skills by the end of the year.
My students speak Spanish as their native language.
By the end of second grade, my students will be reading, writing, and speaking English as well. Our school is a low income school in Rogers Park. The demographics are 60% Hispanic students and therefore, my class is 100% Spanish speaking.
My Project
These resources will be a pivotal part of our Daily 5 routine. These materials will be in one of the centers for Word Work. In this center, students use various materials, in this case, stamps to practice their spelling words. The Bingo games will provide the students the opportunity to play with their spelling words while practicing various skills during out Fun Friday period which is dedicated to vocabulary skills.
By having these materials, it allows my students to learn while having fun but most importantly to practice English development through games.
By creating a fun and safe environment, students are more willing to take risks and practice their English with their peers.
