This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The English Language Development department at our High School has worked hard to support all learners who are acquiring English. Many of these students enroll with challenging financial situations and some have gaps in formal education. The resources required to support and generate inspiring linguistical growth are vast. As the head of the ELD department, I am hoping to get support from you to create an unforgettable Teacher's Appreciation Week for our staff.

With the resources selected, our department will be able to create engaging, interactive lessons.

A component of acquiring literacy is the ability for students to speak, read, write, and listen in a language. Some classrooms have inadequate speakers to support with listening activities. Other classrooms face challenges with providing immediate feedback and having writing supplies and materials that students can access daily. The request of classroom supplies, visual supports, speakers, and whiteboards will all help increase growth and learning in our ELD classes.
