English Comes to Life!

Help me give my students who are learning English new graphic books, as an accessible and enjoyable way to practice reading!

My Project

My students are new to the country; they are level-one English learners. I would love a way for them to process and practice their English with the VISUAL WORD. Graphic novels are an excellent way to connect with the language, learn new words and enjoy English because of its visual nature. I have not met a student yet who didn't love a little conflict in their life and graphic novel present drama and intrigue in a beneficial way.

Once we get some favorites in our little classroom library, we can grow into small-group reading groups to facilitate conversation and discussion over the book's themes and events, and PRACTICE OUR ENGLISH.

How exciting!

English is a door to other opportunities for these amazing learners, and they deserve to obtain it in an accessible and enjoyable manner. Thank you for supporting the next generation.
