My Students
With each due date that comes, I hear myself saying, "Please send me your document so you can have a paper copy of your work for your portfolio."
The students I teach all come from low income homes.
Some have computers but most don't have access to a printer and rely on school resources to complete their assignments. As a teacher, it is important for me to be able to support my students in many ways. They work amazingly hard and are preparing for college. It is my job to support that journey.
My Project
Paper may seem insignificant to some, but it makes all the difference in a classroom. As budgets are cut across the country, classrooms are looking to people like you to become heroes to our students, even if it is something as simple as paper. My students need paper, and post its.
Through the providing of resources, you will be supporting my high school students in the cultivation and development of their English Language Arts writing portfolio. They will all be supporting each other through collaborative learning- working with peers to improve writing, build ideas, and grow as writers.
