Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school are eager Black (80%) and Latinx (20%) scholars. Our school has a high population of foster kids, single-parent households and students living with extended family members. Our school is a Title I school in which eighty percent of our students qualify for free school breakfast, lunch and supper. Financial strains have begun to inhibit the quality of education that I can offer my students. I am struggling to buy all the materials that would help me to provide the quality of education that my students deserve. I am hoping this project will make a tremendous impact on the tools that I can use to further my students' education.
My Project
Help my students create an artistic marble run so they can explore engineering and art/sculpture standards!
Let's put the EA in STEAM with engineering/art supplies!
The card stock paper, straws, as well as the staplers will be used to construct the geometric main frame of the marble run. It will also be used to help students construct and add marble tracks. I plan to have students use the marbles to test their geometric marble run structures. The tempera & water color paint and paint palettes are for decorating their marble structure.
