My students need opportunities to use their very creative minds. We are wanting to do more STEM projects and 6 sets of this LEGO game are perfect!

My Students
Do you remember what it was like to spend all summer playing then have to return to school to open a textbook? Well those days are over! Kids need opportunities to learn with hands-on experiences that are engaging and stimulate their senses.
I teach gifted and talented students in Oklahoma ranging in age from 2nd through 5th grade.
The school population is very diverse ethnically and is at a 65% poverty level. It's a fantastic mix of races and economic levels.
Students here attend Northridge Elementary which is a school surrounded by a neighborhood.
My Project
This resource will allow my students to use creativity through LEGOS. We will start by using the dye to create objects and then end by writing stories of what occurs in the setting they just created. This will include learning parts of stories and will build their writing skills.
This project is important because my students HATE to write.
It will create a creative and fun way to encourage writing. Writing is now a main focus in all academic areas and a much needed area of improvement for my gifted and talented students. My students achieve more when LEGOS are involved because they think it's playtime but it's really learning through play.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
