COVID has greatly impacted learning by decreasing the amount of opportunities students have to learn in a hands-on environment.
This has also decreased the time they have been able to have small group interactions.
Therefore, their social skills and etiquette, as well as the concepts of sharing, teamwork, and constructive feedback are greatly behind the appropriate level for their respective ages. However, students’ problem- solving skills are bubbling just under the surface and ready to emerge with some hands-on learning.
The items requested will teach a range of skills and concepts to five hundred and twenty-five kindergarten through fourth grade students in a hands-on way. The goal for them is to not only be able to see the demonstration of circuitry, coding, electrical engineering and critical thinking, but to fully immerse them in learning through exploration, problem solving, and other developmentally appropriate experiences. This will allow them to work in small groups and develop the social skills needed for success in school and adulthood.
