This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My scholars are an energetic group of kids who have a passion for learning. They are on their individual journeys to college and give their education their all, to make sure they succeed.
Scholars in my class are passionate young learners ready to explore the world through hands-on experiences.
I try and it make it my personal mission, each year, to ensure that my scholars experience as many opportunities as possible.
Being such young minds, my kindergartners are eager to learn literacy and mathematics through the use of games and activities that will get them moving around the classroom, working in partnerships, and exploring with hands-on experiences during Center Time, which occurs daily in our classroom.
My Project
Scholars in my kindergarten class love using their imaginations! During the day, my scholars are provided with many different opportunities to explore content areas, such as math, writing, and engineering, with hands-on materials and experiences. They also love hands-on activities during science lessons too!
Magna-tiles have really helped my scholars build their creativity during math and engineering centers.
Currently, we only have 1 set of magna-tiles, which limits my kindergarten kids. We work in a variety of small groups every day to ensure that each child gets different opportunities throughout the week to use the magna-tiles (which they absolutely love!).
Now, we are looking to add to our collection so scholars can get daily exploration experiences in our classroom through the use of these awesome tools! They love working in teams and small groups and I absolutely love watching their collaboration and teamwork!
