Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in an urban environment in Los Angeles. My students are predominately Latino and also English Learners. We are a very underfunded school with a great staff and administration. The parents of our students are amazing. I love my school. I have been here for 15 years straight out of college. I plan on staying my entire career here and giving as much to this community as I can.
We just need more...We need more time and more materials to close the achievement gap.
I hope you can find it in your heart to help.
My Project
I would love to start exploring STEM concepts in a hands on way. I would like to provide my students with the opportunity to develop their knowledge around coding and engineering with this LEGO set. I think that having the chance to put your hands on something a create physically provides the brain a chance to do some quality learning.
Pairing the building with the coding is what will lead my students to be more interesting in learning more about coding.
My goal is to expose all my middle school students to Coding before they reach high school.
