Our elementary is locate in the heart of Fishers, Indiana, and serves 600 students in grades kindergarten through fourth grade. Approximately 28% of our students receive free or reduced meals. What makes Harrison Parkway special? Our belief in children. We believe that students are naturally curious and want to have a voice in what they are learning through a multitude of opportunities.
The future engineers of the world are in our classrooms today; through our Lego Innovation Area, students will use their creativity, imagination, and team building skills to construct something that is meaningful to them.
Discovery starts in the media center and as a central hub for anytime, anywhere learning, the media center provide a space for teachers to teach and students to learn. At Harrison Parkway Elementary, we want to engage our students with an engaging area that sparks curiosity by encouraging students to think critically and creatively, about the world around them. Creativity, critical thinking, and team work is fostered with access through our Lego Innovation Area in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
I am requesting LEGO plates and LEGO bricks to build a Lego Innovation Area in our school media center to encourage critical skills through designing. Children will be able to build their inventions to display them on the LEGO wall. The LEGO building plates are adhesive and will be put on a wall in the media center. Students at Harrison Parkway will be accessible to students of all ages and abilities. By having these resources in our media center, students will gain invaluable opportunities that will support them for life! We hope you will make a donation to our project.
