Help me give my students the ability to engineer prototypes to solve modern day needs!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Many of these students come to school everyday with heavy hearts and emotional barriers that impact their educational success. About 93% of our students come from socially-economic disadvantaged families. As a result, I purchase majority of classroom and lab supplies.
These students have shown great willingness to lower these walls and develop a connection to the classroom learning.
I have been teaching middle school science since 2018 and just recently added on an elective of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). These students are ready to learn and I hope you can help extend the learning that happens this year
My Project
I would love to utilize 3D printing to extend the student learning in the classroom. My students focus heavily on the engineering and design process. Throughout the year, they will define needs in our community and design solutions to meet those needs. With the use of 3D printers, students will be able to build and construct prototypes that can be used to improve our school and community. There are a wide variety of projects that students will be able to complete: robotic hand, bridge designs, science fair projects and so much more!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
