Ms. B. from MI is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need The Real World STEM Challenges Small Group Kits and the Survive the Earthquake kit to help them to: think, discover, explore and process like scientists and engineers.

My students are curious, inquisitive, and have many questions they would like to answer. They are open to new ideas and experiences and are eager to learn new concepts. The students are in the processes of advancing their interpersonal skills which assist them in participating in more interactive classroom lessons. They are learning how great minds collaborate to facilitate the flow of ideas which help produce a credible solution. The students in my class need positive learning opportunities to work together on a meaningful learning task that has real world applications. I want to be able to bring meaningful experiences which will enable them to continue to grow their beautiful minds.
My science classes will use the Real World Engineering kit, the Stem Science Kit, and the Survive the Quake Engineering Kit to learn how to make good social and interpersonal decisions while trying to solve a problem. The students work in cooperative, collaborative groups to construct meaning from the learning task. Most great scientific ground breaking discoveries come from scientist and/or engineers working together, sharing ideas and information.
Creating real world problems, through the engineering kits, will allow my students to practice: discussing, listening, evaluating, and analyzing to make better evaluations and conclusions.
My students need to practice appropriate ways to represent their ideas even when other students disagree with them. Teaching interpersonal skills is a lesson that will help my students in every aspect of their lives.
