My Project

All 9th-grade students at our high school take the Project Lead the Way - Engineering Essentials course. This course directly supports our school’s focus as the district’s aerospace and engineering magnet high school. This project will grow our classroom library by adding engineering trade books relevant to our curriculum and also support positive team building activities.

Please help us add to our engineering classroom library by providing students with books that are relevant to topics discussed throughout this course.

Topics include: STEAM careers, bridges, coding, urban planning, 3D printing, and other engineering topics. Several of the requested books are recommended by the National Science Teaching Association. The book stands provide a way to showcase each of the titles.

This project will also support an engineering mindset, including collaboration, problem solving, and teamwork through classroom games and activities. Jenga is played when discussing structural engineering, and origami allows students to create different paper structures. The Taco-Cat-Goat-Cheese-Pizza card game helps develop positive relationships among table groups, as many of the engineering instant challenges are group-related tasks.

The wallpaper is needed to cover a bulletin board where student projects are displayed.
