My Students

"Why do I need to learn this?" "When will I ever use this?" Every teacher has heard this. My students need to see how math and science are used in real world situations.

My students are in a high poverty, high minority school with 50% English Language Learners and 30% identified as special education.

They want to learn, but often do not see how the 'text book' learning applies to them. They do not see how people use it in careers everyday.

My Project

I want my students to question, plan, and build solutions to real life problems being faced all around the world. I want to expose them to careers they never realized they could have. Engineering is Elementary is a curriculum which ties science and math into real world engineering problems for the students to solve. Project-based learning is one of the best ways to engage students and engaged students learn!

Please help my students experience engineering in a real world setting.

Help them to dream big and aspire to be someone they never realized they could be! Help them understand why we learn math and science so they can go forward and change the world someday!
