Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to collaborate with each other. They come in to class everyday with their bright smiles ready to share ideas and support each others learning. They are an amazing group of young leaders, scientist, athletes, innovators, creators, and writers.

My enthusiastic students are always eager to experience and learn new topics every day.

They are a very diverse group, with students from different cultures all working towards striving their individual goals in the class. They work hard and enjoy challenges!

My Project

Students will be learning about natural disasters. They will have opportunities to use the tablet to explore various educational sites to be introduced and research their chosen natural disaster. It is important for students to learn to research inquiry questions they create in regards to natural disasters. In class, students will use the books as a way to collaboratively learn about the disasters with their classmates. These books will also be a great resource for students to use in class in order to learn more collaboratively about the various possible natural disasters in our world. Then they will develop a research project about their chosen natural disaster.

Students will become engineers by using all the materials to create and present a vehicle that will help people survive the disaster.

Students will use these materials to solve a real life scenario connected to a natural disaster that they have learned about. These materials will bring forth students imagination and innovative ideas to life. These materials will make it possible for students to continue to be challenged and empowered throughout their learning. In the end, students will be given the opportunity to present their learning through multiple methods. This is where they will use the printer to print sources and images that will best support them in displaying their learning.

We need to continue to provided engaging and innovative opportunities for students to learn about our world. These materials will enhance students learning and creativity in the classroom.
